Vitamin C

She is married to Michael Kotch whom she met while attending New York University and they formed Eve's Plum together. Michael was the guitarist and Coleen was the lead singer. After around a year, they landed a deal with Sony and wound up releasing two albums, 1993's Envy and 1995's Cherry Alive. Colleen subsequently left for a solo career and also took on acting roles in The Naked Gun 2 1/2, Liar Liar, The Mambo Kings, Dracula 2000, and Get Over It.

In 1988 Colleen Fitzpatrick scored a deal with Elektra. Her debut album, Vitamin C, was released in late summer 1999 and it produced two decent-sized hits in "Smile" and "Me, Myself and I." Vitamin C really took off, though, with the impeccably timed release of the third single, "Graduation (Friends Forever)”.

• We used this piece for our Middle School graduation ceremony - and it was very well received.

What about learning to play the Vitamin C Graduation Song on a musical instrument?

• Not very hard to play. I have taken violin for 3 years and can play it pretty well. I also took piano for about 3 years and it's also just as easy. It's in C major, which is easy for piano, but you’ve got to make sure you check your fingering on the violin. I really recommend this!

• I thought that this song was a little bit challenging to play, especially the 3 # part. I haven't been able to play it yet, but I know that I will.
