BRUNCH

by Freda Karlsson
(Sweden)

For a Brunch try and have lots of freshly baked, warm food as the aroma and fresh taste greatly appeal to the guests.

In Reply

You will find amazing brunch recipes in just about every good cookbook. They include fabulous twists on simple recipes. Some of the simplest ideas are:

Eggs and omelettes. The eggs could be fried, scrambled or poached.
Frittata
Bacon, especially crispy bacon
Pancakes of all kinds, including buttermilk ones
Waffles of all flavors
French Toast
Potatoes - home fries
Scones and Muffins
Non Alcoholic Cocktails
Toast and Bread
Cheese, provide a selection of cheeses
Fruit Salad
Salads, perhaps a simple green salad
Fruit Juices
Cinnamon Rolls
Roast Beef Sandwiches
Chicken

Many of these items will be freshly made and have that warm baking aroma you speak of.
If you are short of time ask a local restaurant chef to help plan the menu or cook some of the dishes. Your guests will love some show cooking.
It might be worth finding just one unusual dish to serve that guests will love.

Sorbet

by Janice Amstrong
(Boston)

Graduation can be a hot day. I have decided to make a range of sorbets as part of our desserts. The ones I am making are lemon, strawberry and blueberry as they are the school colors.

Sorbets are great and sometimes better if you cool or almost freeze the bowl.

Amazing Greek Food

by Gillian Mackie
(Los Angeles)

Why not try some Greek food. Our neighbors are mostly of Greek origin and we love the food they make. Lots of salads with feta cheese and olive oil are a good base. Also have Moussaka, bean soup, Souvlaki, and crusty bread with dips such as hummus, tzatziki or melitzanosalata.
