Video - Play and record
by Katie Smith
(United Kingdom)
Play old videos of the graduate from a baby, through childhood and the most recent activities they have been involved in. Make sure you include things such as prom, homecoming, senior sports banquets, musicals, and anything else you can think of.
Just have this playing in the background on a screen.
Alternatively, if you don't have any, or many videos, of the graduate then scan lots of photos of the graduate onto your computer and create a slide show of them.
I was at a party recently that had a slideshow of photos showing on a large flat screen TV on the wall.
I am not 100% sure how to do this but here is one idea you could investigate - if you burn lots of photos onto a CD some DVD players will load each one individually and show them as a slideshow
Video tape the party! Place the video camera on a tripod and just let it roll. This will give the graduate a keepsake to treasure and to share with others later. The best scenes can be made into photographs.
The basis of the party is clearly about video, what you have and the ones you will take at the graduation party. This could be brilliant fun and some suggestions for the video play and record party are:
Invitations
Come and help create a new video at the graduation party
The video play and record party will be great fun

The accessories you can use would be stickers of video equipment, for example.
Decorations
The video play and record party decorations could be augmented with:
- Video equipment through the years can be displayed perhaps with some specification data to show how things have improved.
- A video booth for guests to record their message to the graduate.
- Edit clips of the best of guests videos of the graduate in the same way as the graduate‘s own videos to show at the party.
- Show videos already taken at the graduation party
One great
game could be to have a best video contest. Teams can try and take the best video at the party.
Some
favor ideas could be video equipment keychains, video equipment, copy of the best of the graduate video and also a video with a message of thanks from the graduate.
