The speech could be constructed in this way:
The important thing here at the beginning is to know the speech topic and know the time limit you have. You can get to work on the speech from there.
The speech topic should help your daughter make the points she wishes to make. The speech topic should be something she is interested in. That could be making a difference in the world, using education to make a great life or the importance of goal setting. However at Elementary School talking about how great education is might work well.
Start the speech simply with, for example, “friends, we are honored to be here today at our graduation ceremony, alongside our parents, teachers and guests. “
Introduce the topic with a statement “I am going the talk about just how great education is. We have been very lucky to be taught by the best teachers and although it has been hard work at times, we really have been given a great education. “
Link the speech topic to the main body of it by using say a personal statement or story:
“I love being able to read Harry Potter books as I love the stories and I love being able to stick to my budget when we go to the mall.
There is great joy in being able to read good books, talk to adults, count quickly in stores top add up the totals, and knowing some French when we go on Vacation. There has been so much we have learned that will make us great students in the next stage of our education. This learning is also very valuable in our day to day lives. I feel much more confident in everything I do.
The excitement at the results of our education do not stop at Elementary School, wonderful though it has been. The next stage of our education may seem a real challenge. However our enthusiasm to learn will see us through. We are very well equipped to do well as we go forward and we will do well. We will enjoy the fruits of our education as we become more confident learners who will love being educated people. Beyond that we will enjoy using our education to build a great life following our favorite careers.”
This is a suitable time to thank everyone and recognize the love and support of the families. There may also be some recognition due to members of the class who have been exceptional in some way.
The Future: “As we prepare to leave Elementary School I think we are right to do so with great hope about the future. School will be excellent for us. We are confident in our abilities. We can learn anything if we work hard and we will love each success as it comes our way. Look ahead to an exciting future with growing confidence.”
Ending- round up the points made and bring the speech back to graduation. EG “I hope we all enjoy the graduation we thoroughly deserve. Good Luck Class of ___”
