matriculation

12 years have flown past like a heavy storm
12 years ago I walked into a school
I was tiny and scared
I found comfort in my books
I embraced them and loved them
Turned to them when I was depressed
Now 12 years later I am finally 18 and matriculating
I give thanks to the lord almighty who found it necessary for me to pass
My results await me
My 12 years of hard work have finally ended and now...
The long journey of life awaits me...

Growing Up

by andrea jett
(Fort oglethorpe,Ga unite state)

I had shared some tears,I have some ups and some downs.
I even had times where I wanted to throw in the towel.
By when i look around in see that if I give up and throw an the towel I see that I am like the rest.
So,when I turn around an look
over my right shrould's I see my children staring me in my face, then I realize that it's not about me it's about the four mouths that I have to feed.
That's when I push myself, say that I can make it.

Graduation!!!

by Angle (Parlin)

This school is such a special place to me.
It tells me how to fly and be free.
No words can express the happiness that i'm feeling to be here.
So lets give a cheer.
This year went really fast.
Don't forget the past.
The memories will always stay in my heart.
I'll make it an art.
I had great time this year.
My eyes didn't had any tears.
Sad to leave 8th grade.
But new friends are made.
To 8th grade i have to say goodbye.
But i will not die.
Just like to say thanks to everyone.
Cause of them the best year of my life I have won.
Everyone from this school will be in my prayer.
Because they all care.
I love them all

My Graduation Poem

by Rawan Alaa
(Cairo, Egypt)

We're graduating, and we know
Our lives will be different and new
We're going out into the world
Our goals and dreams to pursue
But one thing will never, ever change
As we go our seperate ways
The friends we've made in school will be
Our friends for all our days
The special ties and attachments we've made
These bond will never be broken
We'll continue to feel that special bonds
Though words may not be spoken
So it's not " Goodbye", but rather "Farewell"
I'll see you again my friend
Your friendship means alot to me
And it will never End !!

We Were The Undefeated Ones

by By: Roop Ullah

The world is waiting for us,
We have to go
To make a move,
That will be remembered.

We have a chance,
A mighty one.
To do something,
That will never be done.

Hopes and dreams,
We've passed along,
A moment we've encountered,
We were the ones.

Again we rise,
From our many defeats.
Something tells us,
Victory is almost here.

We, the future,
The undefeated ones.
We were the ones,
To rise from our fall.

To understand the meaning,
Of the victorious ones,
Is to be among the,
Undefeated ones.

We've cried,
And laughed.
But we've always done one thing,
To hold our head up high everyday.

Today is our day,
To shine once again.
Don't fall today,
Because we've already succeeded.

We were the ones,
Who were victorious.
To rise and fall,
From the many defeats.

You have created a brilliant poem here. It is very much how I see the graduate at graduation. I have let my friends know just how good it is.

I hope you find the time to write more poetry. Great job.

Do Not Forget

by Arlene Hooks
(Rowland Heights, California)

After graduation forget the old boyfriend you left behind and the hurt he caused you
forget the lunches you did not like
forget the times you hated to wake up in the mornings
but do not forget you got up any way
forget the bad grades if you left some behind
but do not forget the teachers who taught you well.
I saluate you graduate you crossed every obstacle paid the price and fought very well.
God bless you.

The Best of the class

I've sweat over piles of books
slept on my back pack for years
packed my lunch and walked my happy little self to school almost every day even in the rain
dreaming big is all I do
hoping one day to be more that what I'd like to pursue
cheering myself on
with pats on the back
my arms in the air
I've made it to the end of the years
hoowrah finally
I'm going to be so high flying in the sky with my cap and gown and diploma in hand I'll be the best one day and soon I'll be back to see your response.

Don't Be...

by Michelle Rojas
(chicago ,Il)

Don't be the person
that you wish you could have been,
But be who you really are.

Don't be afraid of standing up
for each other,
But never be a bystander.

Don't be someone you aren't
because the time will come
when everyone finds out.

Don't be so thinkative
about everything,
Thinking too much can cause
problems that weren't even there.

Don't be so hard with yourself
when you know you deserved what
happened.

Don't be so hollow like if someone
to your whole life away.

Don't be that someone who gave up their life for the mistakes they made.

Don't be...

Good Bye 8th grade

by Sierra LaFollette
(Austin Indiana)

This year is gone and it's time to move on,
High School here I come,
The stage and people,
Laughter and sorrow,
This year will never leave us,
Walking across the stage,
Thinking about all of the better days,
Well All we care about is that we achieved our goals.
Good Bye Middle School Hello High School!!!

Graduation Poem

by Rawan Alaa
(Cairo, Egypt)

Thirteen years have passed,
With moments that will forever last,
Friendship bonds that wont break,
And a life full of mistakes.

This final schooling year,
Is something that I fear,
I cant wait for it to disappear,
But I know it will finish with a tear.

The memories we have made,
Will somehow never fade,
The journey we have shared,
To no other it can be compared.

The fights we have had,
Somehow always made us sad,
the stupid stuff we said,
and how we watched the lies spread.

The stuff we have learned,
And the money we have earned,
we havent hit the big world,
but when we do well be twirled.

The school days i'll never forget,
And them i'll never regret,
The new chapter i'll begin,
Is assured to have a new spin.

Goodbye

by Jane Paton
(Colorado)

When we met we were quite lonely
Away from family and missing home
We found a group who became friends
We thought it would be to the end

We laughed and loved through college years
Little knowing that graduation would bring tears
Our time has come to say goodbye
And today we know we'll cry

But tomorrow I will lose my fears
And have a smile from ear to ear
As I recall the things we've done
Together, the four of us as one

No More Kindergarten for Us!

by Nadir S. Ahmad
(Detroit, Michigan)

No more Kindergarten, our toys we’ve put away.

No more Kindergarten for us, we’ll be First Graders after
today.

We’ve learned so much from our teacher in Arabic and
Islamic Studies.

We’ve learned how to treat everyone, even though they aren’t our buddies.

We learned our Science, Social Studies, our English and our Math.

We’ve also learned to follow the straight and upright path.

We’ve learned to respect our mothers, and our fathers too.

We’ve also learned to pray salah, after we’ve made wudu.

Kindergarten was really great and we really, really grew.

We know we’re going to miss it and miss our teachers too.

May God Almighty bless them, for all they did for us.

But we’re going on to First Grade and not make a fuss.

We Wish You Were Here!

by Nadir S. Ahmad
(Detroit, Michigan)

We wish you were here to share the joys
Of all the little girls and boys
“They are so beautiful”, as you would say
On this special graduation day
Their caps and gowns, they’re so white
They look like stars in the sky at night
We wish you were here to see them now
They’re all smiles—not even one frown
They’ve grown so much over the past few weeks
Most of them have reached their peaks
They remember what you taught them from A to Z
And they’re spelling words like a little bee
The “little people”, they stole your heart
You and them will never part
Though you’re not here to celebrate
Your life and works were all so great!
But we can feel your presence in this room today
That’s why we’re putting on this great display
The teachers are speaking and the children singing
Even the bells have all stopped ringing
So today is your day - in no small measure
Because what you left is like a golden treasure
Your love, your taqwa, and your dedication
Have made this such a special graduation
And your “little people”, they are in good care
Because Sis. Lateefah is always there
So don’t you worry, she knows what to do
But we and “the little people” will always love you.
And in our hearts we will hold you near
But all of us— wish that you were here!
