Neon Party

by Arlene Hypia
(USA)

My graduation party ideas suggestion is to have a neon party. I am short of preparation time but can easily buy lots of glow bracelets, necklaces and sticks.

The lighting will include neon strips.

The general lighting will be low.

Some Additional Ideas

Some additional ideas that may help develop the Neon theme:

Invitations

The graduate is glowing and you can be too.
Come to the Neon party and help the night to shine brightly.
Venue details
Time/date
RSVP details

You can attach the invite to a glow bracelet. You could even write the invite with those safe kids glow paints.

You could add other glow items to the envelope.

Favors are a simple thing to buy. You should be able to source glow sticks and bracelets, for example, locally.

Decorations

The whole party can have a neon look and feel.

  • Use neon style lighting all over the venue. Using it also to highlight areas of the party like the dance floor and tables.

  • Although not quite neon lights, you can have neon colored wall coverings such as gossamers.

  • The table can have bright colors on the table cover, napkins and choice of plates.

  • The table centrepiece can have neon lighting safely set up for the centrepiece.

  • The napkins can have glow bracelets round them.

  • Use glow in the dark and scary items around the venue.

  • Try and create a congratulations class banner using glow paint.

  • Decorate your driveway with neon lighting showing the way to the party.

  • Put neon lighting in tress and bushes.

  • Surround your backyard and pool with neon lighting.

Guests can dress in their brightest colored clothing in keeping with the neon theme. Some may even find hats, shoes and bow ties that light up. Keep a supply of glow things for them to wear.

The music could be the right mood music.

A fairly mad party game could be to turn out the lights having given one guests a glow stick. They are to write a message up in the air and guests have to guess what they wrote. Hopefully the trace of the message will leave a trail for enough time to help guests see what was written.

Last Minute
by: Amelie Legrand

This is brilliant for a last minute graduation party.

I liked it because we did it all in a day, ordered pizza, gave out lots of free glow stuff, had brilliant music (all big rock sounds), and just had fun.
