Homemade Graduation Invitation

This invite was extremely easy to make so making them in bulk shouldn't be a problem. Once you decide on the text and clipart it only takes about 3 minutes per card to print and add the decorative finishes.

I really enjoyed making these and the satisfaction level is great.

Items Required

  • White card
  • Computer and Printer
  • Fiskars Rope Border Punch
  • Gel pens in assorted colors
  • Flat backed jewels
  • PVA glue

I got my card from www.paper.com. It's from the Arturo range, it's a single card size 6.69 by 4.53 inches. I ordered the Fiskars punch, gel pens and flat backed jewels from www.joann.com.

Making Instructions

  1. Within your word processing tool, set the paper size and margins as desired, folwed by the title and text. I used wordart for the title. You could also add some nice clipart like I've done in my example. When your happy with the result the print it on your card. Please note that it's a goos idea to test the print on a trial piece of paper first that has been cut to the required size.
  2. Use the frikars border punch down the side of each invite.
  3. I then used some gel pens to place some colorful dots of gel on the rope border on each side. This seemed to introduce color and glitz to the card.
  4. Finally I used a match stick to apply some PVAglue to the back of the jewels and I then stuck a few on to each invite for a bit of glamour.
