Choosing the right graduation paper is one of the important decisions to be made.

There are many options to help you choose the right graduation party invitations paper. You can coordinate your graduation invitations, envelopes, thank you cards and place cards.

Simple Printer Paper

This is of course printer generic printer/ copy paper.

The advantage is it fits your printer, is cheap and you can easily but it, perhaps at your local supermarket.

Your local printing shop may well refer to this paper by the weight as 20lb paper stock.

A better quality of paper is slightly heavier, textured paper which is 25lb paper.

Paper size is 8.5” by 11”.

Great for cheap and cheerful graduation party invitations.

Colored And Patterned Graduation Paper

Similar in use as the white printer paper, the colored and patterned paper is totally suited to your printer.

This is a real matter of choice. For example the color may be chosen to suit your kindergarten, school, or college colors.

Perhaps you can choose colors to suit your party theme or party decoration accent. Similarly for the patterned paper.

Text and Cover Graduation Paper

Text paper is great for graduation invitations. At 50lb, 60lb, 70lb, 80lb and 100lb it is a good buy for invitations.

Cover paper is slightly heavier paper.

Graduation Paper Finish

You can buy ultra smooth paper and alternatively rough embossed paper. Textures in between are available.

Cardstock Paper

This is 65lb up to 110lb paper. You can assume from the name that this card thickness and extra weight will give great graduation party invitations.

You can make postcard style invitations with your invitations design on one side and the postal details on the other.

If you need to fold the cardstock paper you will need to score it using a scoring tool.

Good too for place cards and thank you notes!

Blank Invitation Paper

I think this is my favorite as it fits my printer and looks really good.

The ranges generally come in a range of subtle colors and different sizes of writing sheets, flat cards, folded cards and matching envelopes.

My current favorite is the Arturo range.

Special Graduation Paper

Best be clear on the purpose of the paper. If you are printing on your own desktop, laser, inkjet printer or indeed have a deal with a printing shop.

Also consider digital, photographic or ‘green’ paper.

Cotton Paper

A more sophisticated paper, coming in a good range of colors and with a watermark.

Be sure to place the watermark at the front when printing.

I think this is a good quality paper for more formal invites.

Scrapbook Graduation Paper

These papers will also come in many different textures. This will not come in handy if you are looking to print directly onto them, but on the creative side of making your own invitations, these papers do the job. I like to use these papers to do a little layering. You can print your words on a different kind of paper, then layer it onto the textured paper! You will see some examples of this elsewhere on the site. Another downside to using this kind of invitation paper is that alot of these papers come in an odd size so you will need to have them cut down to the size you wish to use. If you choose to cut them yourself many of these papers have a grid printed onto the back of them for easy measuring.

Handmade And Handcrafted Graduation Paper

This is the most elegant and sophisticated paper.

You cannot print on to them.

You can produce wonderful graduation invitations if for example you can have some beautiful calligraphy in say gold writing.

This paper offers the chance to compliment a formal event.

Pre Printed Graduation Paper

It may suit your budget and time constraints to buy pre printed general invitations which you simply write in the party details. For example a small number of guests.

You may even be artistic and wish to use watercolor paper to make individual invitations.
