Graduation Invitation Wording - Check List

You can create the right graduation invitation wording for your blank graduation invitations by following a few simple rules.

1) Date – Include the days of the week as well as the date i.e. Saturday July 26 2015.
2) Time – Include start and end time. End time as especially good idea for open house invitations i.e. 11 am – 6 pm
3) RSVP – You could also say "Please let us know if you can come by…." State a date to call by and a phone number or an email or text reply would be suitable for an informal invitation. Ask for a response at least 2 weeks prior to the party. This will give you time to plan food etc.
4) Location – Give the full address (including city).
5) Hosts – who is hosting the event and who is being invited. Plus, if sharing the expenses with other parents then it's appropriate to mention their names.
6) Names – be sure to use the name your child likes to be known by.
7) Dress – if you are having an unusual party then be sure to state the dress code.
8) Why – what is the reason for the celebration.

Graduation Invitation Wording

Graduation invitation wording can look amazing if you use the right font.

For Kindergarten a suitable font would be Georgia (as shown below) and an example of a suitable kindergarten verse would be:

(Parents names) proudly announce their (son’s or daughter’s) Kindergarten Graduation and invite you to attend this memorable event. (name of graduate) will graduate from (name of Kindergarten) (Date and time) (location) R.S.V.P. (parents name and number)

For Middle or High School a suitable font would be Bradley Hand ITC (as shown below) and an example of suitable graduation invitation wording would be:

No doubt about it, we're gonna shout about it! Hip, hip hooray for the Graduate today! You are invited to a Graduation Party in honor of (Graduate's Name) on (Date) at (Time) (Location) Please reply to (Parent's or Graduate’s Name and telephone number)

For college a suitable college verse font would be Calligraphy or Monotype Corsiva (as shown below) and an example of a suitable college graduation invitation wording would be:

Graduation Invitation Wording - Simple Invite

You can make a simple, easy to do invite by:

• Simply write out the invitation wording onto card. Use gold or silver marker pens.


• Put a return address on the back of the envelope.


• A neat finishing touch is to use a graduation seal.
