Cake Pans Suitable for Graduation
Graduation cake pans will help make your cake look really
unique and really fit the occaision. You could also use it to make a jelly.
Help it to slip out easily by just dipping the pan in boiling water for a
few seconds.

Can I Freeze My Graduation Cake? |
You can freeze your cake. It should last up to three months
in the freezer. To freeze the cake simply wrap it in a few layers of cling
film or seal in a freezer bag.
Cakes sometimes become a little soggy if allowed to defrost too quickly so
for best results, leave it in its wrapping and allow it to defrost overnight
in the fridge. The next day, remove from the fridge and take out of the wrapping
to let it come up to room temperature for an hour or so before decorating
it.
Why was the headmaster worried?
Because there were too many rulers in school!

Single Cake or Cupcake Carrier
There are a few cake storage tips you need
to consider in order to keep your cake fresh for as long as possible:
- Store the graduation
cake in a covered box or container out of direct sunlight as the sunlight will
alter icing colours.
- Heat and humidity
can soften the buttercream and icing used so keep your decorated cake as cool
as possible, and in a box or container if possible.
- Try not to use tinfoil
or cling film to cover a decorated cake as this can sometimes stick to icing
and damage any decorations you may have used.

How Do I Know When My Cake is Cooked? |
To check your cake is completely cooked, insert a very thin
knife into the centre of the cake for a couple of seconds and then remove.
If the knife comes out wet and sticky then the cake needs a few more minutes.
If the blade comes out clean, then your graduation cake is ready.
Perhaps you could write a short graduation quote on your cake
using an edible pen. How about the following:
The tassel's worth the hasstle!
You are hard wired for genius.
There are no barriers in life, only challenges.
Success is a journey, not a destination.
The sky's the limit when your heart is in it.
Climb as high as you can dream.
Change your thoughts and you change your world.
"All that stands between the graduate and the top of the ladder is the
ladder."
Graduation Poems are great for slipping into graduation speeches and also
for putting inside your homemade graduation invitations. Here is just one
of them:
'Hail to the graduate!
Looking great and feeling fit!
Oh, so proud and full of it!
This day belongs to you.'

Now for my top list of graduation cake ideas for a graduation celebration:
Graduation Cake Ideas - Horseshoe Cake Pan How about using a horseshoe cake pan and add writing to it saying “Good Luck Graduate”. You could also add a butter cream transfer with the school mascot to it. Graduation Cake Ideas - Yearbook & Cap Use the graduation cap cake pan and put in on top of an 11 x 15 sheet cake. Decorate the sheet cake like it is a yearbook and decorate the cap in the school colors.
Graduation Cake Ideas - Transfer Any Design One of the neat graduation cake ideas is to transfer any design onto wax paper, then place it onto the cake. • scan a picture onto your computer. • enlarged it, then printed it out. • tape the enlarged picture onto a cookie sheet. • take wax paper and tape it over the print out. • Trace over the design with chocolate chips that have been melted and put into a pastry bag. • Put the outline of the picture into the freezer until it sets • Very gently peel off the wax paper and place it onto the cake. • You can do this technique with any design, remember it will be a mirror image though as you will use the smooth side of the chocolate up. Graduation Cake Ideas - Graduation Cap Making The caps on the following cake are made out of craft foam. Another of the graduation cake ideas is to add them later to your scrapbook.
You could also pipe a graduation cap onto your cake using a graduation cap pattern. Decorate the entire cake with a plastic graduation cap (from ebay) to the top of your cake with a butter cream tassel, a butter cream transfer of the school emblem and a fondant diploma. Just like this example:
The simplest cake ever – a chocolate cake covered in chocolate icing. Then roll out some ready to roll fondant icing and cut out the shape of a graduation hat and then roll a small rectangle of it up to make the scroll. Add the tassel and a ribbon around the scroll in whatever colour of icing you want. Then of course write a message on it. Just like this lovely picture below:
Here is another simple yet lovely design. It just looks like fondant icing with black coloring added then rolled thinly and cut into a square. Then a butter-cream message and tassel added.

Graduation Cake Ideas - School Lockers How about a set of school lockers made by setting loaf pan size cakes side by side and decorating them. Great presentation - especially for guys. You could make different flavors of cakes.
Graduation Cake Ideas - Cupcakes Instead of one large cake, you could make some cute graduation cup cakes and arrange them on a tiered stand. They make great favors to take home too. Click here for a whole page full of graduation cupcake information. Graduation Cake Ideas - Diploma Cake I found this lovely one on the net – I am sure the owner won’t mind me sharing this with you. Here are the details on how she made it:
Make a sheet cake, then cut a 4 inch strip off one short end. This will leave you with the square part of the diploma. Place a paper cup on the bottom left and top right corner to carve around to the get the curved edge of the diploma. Next cut two pieces out if the strip and do the same paper cup thing to one corner of each of them for the "tails" of the paper scroll. Find logos for each school online, print them out, then used the pin-prick method to transfer all images and writing to cake, then followed the outline with icing! Graduation Cake Ideas - Flowers If you are good at decorating cakes with flowers then go ahead and do that and add the following message: (graduates name), your hard work has blossomed! Or you could decorate a sheet cake with the first initial of the graduates name. This could be done with different flowers and then decorate with other flowers around the edge. Graduation Cake Ideas - Cake Central Check out cake central for some wonderful cake decorating ideas. Graduation Cake Ideas - Themed Graduation Cakes It’s a good idea to decorate the cake with the graduate’s hobby - makes it more personal. Or if the graduate has an adored pet then go onto google image search and find something to copy. You could add a diploma in it's mouth. Or if you are having a themed graduation party then go to the themed graduation cake ideas page to discover ideas for cakes covering the following themes: • Pirate • Clown • Casino • Mardi Gras • Fifties • Hollywood • Safari • Luau • Sea • Superhero • Wild West. Graduation Cake Ideas - Photo Book Cake How about make a cake using a book cake pan – you’ll find them on ebay. Cover the cake in ready-to-roll fondant icing and then purchase an edible photo of the graduate from www.picturethatcake.com. Place the photo on one side and pipe a message on the other side.
Graduation Cake Ideas - For a Medical Graduation Graduation cakes for a medical graduate seem to be in demand. Try adding fondant icing molded in medical themed shapes i.e. thermometers, stethoscopes, etc. Just like this one.
Graduation Cake Ideas - Sheet Cake with a Quote or Motto This is a nice simple one of the graduation cake ideas. Why not bake a large sheet cake, cover it with some delicious butter-cream icing and then add a thought provoking graduation quote to it - you'll finds loads of graduation quotes to choose from here. If you are great with a piping bag then go for it or you can get these little tubes of gel in supermarkets that are really easy to write with. I have even found a plastic pen in my local shop called the “cookery nook” which you can fill with icing and just squeeze and use like an ordinary pen. You could even use an edible pen – better to cover your cake in ready-to-roll fondant icing for this option though. See below this nice example I found on the net.
Graduation Cake Ideas - Decorate with M&Ms OK, this is a photo of a 16th birthday cake but it gives you an idea of how it could look. Perhaps the M&Ms could spell out the graduates name or even say "Congrats" or "Class of ....". You can select any color of M&M and you could even add the graduates name or picture to the M&Ms - they look fantastic and everyone loves them.

Graduation Cake Ideas - More Ideas More graduation cake ideas are: - Shape the cake as a book or say three books. Color the books differently and give them names like Math, English and Physics.
- Use different colorings. For example color a graduation cap red and have a gold tassel.
- Have a smiley face cake. This could be a smiley face under a graduation cap. You could also serve smiley face cup cakes.
- One of the better graduation cake ideas is to create a number of star shapes around a large graduation cake. Place photos of the graduate at different ages in the stars.
- If the class is quite small then you could recognise each graduate in the cake. Create a white scroll and add each name in gold edible ink. One of the simple but effecive graduation cake ideas.
- The graduate may be going on to be a doctor, lawyer, optician, vet or other professional. In that case the shape of decorations could be like a hospital, legal pad, glasses, animal or any image that goes with the job.
- The graduate may be a Math, English or Chemistry major in which case you can have books or decorations with an abacus, Shakespeare quote or chemistry equipment.
- If the graduation also honors the country of the graduate you can use the flag as a decoration or perhaps there is a national emblem that you can use like a four leaf clover for Ireland.
- If the theme is movies you can use a ticket style for the cake.
- If the graduate loves singing and music then you could base the cake on a music sheet or musical instrument.
I hope you find the graduation cake ideas you want. There are many graduation cake ideas that can work for you.
