On Your Graduation Day

by Debbie Bongiovanni-Sharp
(California)

It's graduation day,
And now it's time to cheer,
There are so many memories,
That you hold so very dear.

But now you're off to college,
New challenges are awaiting you,
That shouldn't be a problem,
Because I know you'll see them through.

So good luck to you in your endeavors,
We'll support everything that you do,
Just know in your heart,
That we'll always love you.

This poem is for my daughter who is graduating on June 7th!

La Graduacion de Amandita

by Sandra Felsenstein
(Plano, TX 75093)

So here you are,
at the end of this one road.
Another stage awaits
your presence, your breath
your contribution

And you will leave,
of that I'm certain
just like I did
when my life was uncertain

To share you with the world
I know that I must
since you are full of gifts
and a noble heart

But my lovely daughter
it's what life is about
to give in good meassure
thinking not of what we have

There were tears,despair,
foreign lands
It all went into memories
to be retrieved
when you want

I wish you much laughter
not many good byes
I wish you good friends
and true loving lovers
I wish you to love

I wish you the music
the red sunsets you love
My love is forever
your mother, your guide

Dear Daughter

by Tracey
(Seminole, FL)

Dear Daughter,
You have made it to this place of great anticipation and expectation
What has brought you here is a desire to learn,
to live, and to express yourself in this life
We have watched in awe as you have developed
into an independent young woman with the skills needed to meet your goals
and the compassion and love of humanity to make a difference in others’ lives.
Thank you for being you
Thank you for making us proud parents
Thank you for knowing who you are and being true to yourself
This is your time to fly; to enjoy life and experience God’s goodness
You are loved more than words could describe…..Contratulations!

MAMA

by Samantha M. Juday
(Centralia,Illinois)

Can you believe it
it's the end of the year
Time to walk down the isle
and get my diploma to make you proud,
there isn't a cloud in the sky
nor a dry eye in the crowd
on faces of family and friends

there is gonna be places I am going,
dreams to make come true
I am gonna see it through,
time to make another chapter in my life
there will be laughter
and MaMa there will be you...

Love Ya MaMa,

sitting here on bended knee

by shawna tinker
(oliver springs,tennesse,united states of america)

Sitting here on bended knee,

Praying for the child inside of me.

Already thinking of her goals and dreams,

And what kind of person she will grow up to be.

Getting ready for delivery day,

Another few days seems so far away.

Finally,the big day is here,

Excitement and anticipation turn into fear.

She is born and I hear her first cry.

Seventeen years later, how time has flown by.

Her childhood years have come to an end.

She's a senior in high school,

And my very best friend.

Through thick and through thin,

Through laughter and fights,

I stand by this child and pray every night,

That her life will be prosperous,

And her deams will come true.

Because daughter, your my everything and I deeply love you.

Sitting here on bended knee,

Praying for the child that once grew inside of me.

God blees you Darrien,
We are very proud of you.

The Fun Graduate

by Eric Gilmour
(Glasgow)

You were always fun

From when you were born

You laughed and smiled

Even when you fell

All through these early years

There were hardly any tears

You’ve never been blue

Even when friends poked fun at you

We’ve laughed together through school

As at times you played the fool

You seem to have always smiled

Even when bad things happened

So when the pressure was mounting

We expected you to keep smiling

You very strongly passed the test

Even when things were at their toughest

As I reflect over the past

I say you are the best

Calm, strong and fun

I love you my little one.

I Am A Child

I am a child
I came into your world of which I Know nothing
How I came I know not
Why I came I know not
I am curious, I am interested
You hold in your hand my destiny
You determine largely whether I succeed of fail
give me I pray thee those things that were meant for happiness
So That, I may be a blessing to your world

Love To Susie

by Helen Fortune
(London)

I first held you, just born, in my arms
And saw your happy little smile
I vowed to make sure you can to no harm
And love you everyday and go the extra mile

I have watched you learn to walk, and be cool
To go to kindergarten, you just couldn’t wait
All of a sudden you were off to school
And now you are a successful graduate

You ask us for nothing and never frown
You give your time freely as well as your love
You deserve to be the happiest girl in town
You have truly been a gift from above

We will miss your smile, your love and your laugh
But we look to the future full of love
You have the talent, determination and you’re tough
With anything in life we know you’ll cope.

Good luck Susie, we love you.

Daredevil Graduation Poems

by Janet Mclean
(California)

Our little graduation poem for our daredevil son:

You jump in with both feet
You win any challenge you meet
You throw yourself from a plane
You always drive in the fast lane
You faced your very own Everest
You beat the dreaded disease at last
You still succeeded and graduated
You worked so hard to be educated
You, our only son so clever
You will have our love forever
