Barber Shop

My close friends family own a traditional Barber shop which has been in their family since the 1940s. It has great atmosphere, lots of old photos and traditional bareber shop chairs. Looking at graduation party ideas made me think I could have a Luau Theme or Beach party as we live near the beach, however the chance to use this barber shop is too good to miss.
For the decorations I want to add traditional graduation party ideas and barber shop decor.
I will add balloons, graduation photos, streamers, confetti and a life sized barber cut out.
The barber shop has red and white poles, a 1930s clock, popcorn machine and lots of dark wood. I plan to have a mural which everyone can sign and leave messages on which may be a drawing of a barber.
I am considering party games such as best haircut, best shave, best jokes, best barber shop quartet. Really all talent spot type games.
Also prizes for best costume.
Food will be buffet, sandwiches, cake and pizza.
I am also thinking about decorating the guests with face paints and glitter glasses.

I love the idea of our rather unique venue and amazing graduation party ideas. Perhaps this is a party where you can have lots of different things going on. For example, a professional hair stylist can give hair care tips and a demonstration. A barber shop quartet clearly fits in well. Especially if they can involve the party goers. I hope there are a few other ideas that might help.

Accessorize the envelopes by adding drawings of a barbers red and white pole. You could also add some confetti.
Decorations
Since you have this wonderful venue then you will have all the barber shop decorations covered. You might like to add the right amount of graduation decorations:
- Banners and balloons can be placed at the door and around the store.
- Photos of the graduate can be displayed all around the venue.
- Make sure the lighting works as store ones can be a little harsh. If need be change the light bulbs.
- Draw the congratulations messages on the mirrors too.
- Use a guest book situated at the entrance.
- Add some tinsel and graduation confetti.
- Think about using the graduate‘s favorite colors.
- You will likely have to set up an area to safely store buffet food and serve cold drinks.
Favors, can be chosen from the kinds of hair products sold at a barber shop. That could be the usual shampoo and hair cream.
A Barber Shop party is clearly a very social type of occasion. The occasion can benefit from having the conversation flowing and for everyone to be included. Hopefully you will have some strong personalities who will keep the party going.
