I have no idea

by Samantha
(Marietta, Ga, U.S.)

I don't know where to even begin! I am my school's valedictorian and I have been at my school for nine years (it is a kindergarten through high school school), but I don't know what to say. I have seen my school grow from having no sports to a bunch of sports teams, have seen its name change, have been a part of getting our school accredited, and have seen my graduating class grow from 6 to 26 students over the years (I go to a really small school!). I have seen my school grow a lot and I have definitely grown with it, since I began attending in fourth grade. I have participated in JV and varsity volleyball, am the president of my school's National Honors Society, was the varsity football team's manager, am the team captain for the varsity girls soccer team, and have been actively involved in numerous other clubs. In addition, I went on a mission trip with my graduating class to Nicaragua this past January. I guess some lessons I have learned throughout my high school experience is to take the initiative, be present, make the most of opportunities given to you, and to not be afraid to try new things (for example, I never imagined I would be a football manager until I was asked to do so!). My mom works at my school and my school has meant so much to me considering that I have been going there so long and have become so invested in it. Being valedictorian, I really want to have a really strong speech that makes an impact, but I don't even know where to begin! I would really appreciate any help!

Can you have a look at this draft and see if it works for you. It still needs tidy up with real detail about your class and some of their experiences/ successes. However if if generally works I can help you tidy it up.

Principal Hampton, Honored Guests, Graduates and Families

Congratulations to all my class on their graduation.

I must say it has been a real privilege to be part of this amazing class. There are 26 of us and we work together, play together and have succeeded together.

There are many things that make up the character of this wonderful group of people. The obvious one is successful, as we are Graduates and rightly feel a great sense of pride today. Another is togetherness. We really have been together since the beginning of our school days. Although I arrived in Grade 4 I felt that the group took me in and made me feel as if I was always one of them. The fact this school is the only one we needed to attend is part of the reason we have done so well. Another is contribution. Everyone makes a significant and unique contribution. This is a small school so we are used to everyone helping out. However, here the class go out of their way to do something special for others. Sometimes, that contribution just kind of happens as I know when I was asked to be manager of the football team, but we always give our best effort. Yet another is participation. Life is not a spectator sport, everyone takes part in something and gives a great effort. When our school was big enough to provide sports so many of us started playing and I have to say I have loved playing sports like volleyball. One of the last examples is looking outward. We had the most amazing trip to Nicaragua where we learned so much about the local area and people, but we also learned so much about ourselves. Life is about to change in a big way soon and we are increasingly ready for it.

Of course we are a very hard working class with great teachers who we thank for everything they have done. A small school is a close group of people and we certainly have benefitted hugely from our teachers’ hard work and dedication, and also their close interest in us as people and the caring attitude they have to all in our community. Our educational standards have been set high by the school and in the future that will give us the high standards we need to succeed.

Turning to our Graduation ceremony, today is a great occasion for us. Looking out from here it is a real spectacle, seeing everyone in their caps and gown is inspiring, celebratory and also pretty sad that this is our last time together at this special school. Congratulations one more time.

So, what is the thing that binds us, what gives our values, what is the central thing in our lives that defines who we are? I think that is our school. I admit to being a little afraid to leave here and say goodbye to everyone. We are all just like family where we grow, develop, learn, help, teach, argue, learn social skills, make mistakes, talk, have fun, play, explore the world and dream about the future. Here we have learned how to be the right kind of people who are community focused and will always have strong ethics to guide us. I will miss this school as it means so much to my family too with mom working here. I will miss each person enormously. I feel the biggest change of my life coming and it makes me a little sad. But, the future is also on our door step. We can now get going on those fabulous dreams and aspirations we have. It is time to make a new community, new friends and a new place to call home. I expect we will do very well.

Good luck

Response to Draft
by: Samantha Grounds

Thank you so much for your feedback! While I have been at my school since fourth grade, there are only like two others in my graduating class who have been here that long. Many just began coming for high school, and we have others who just began attending this year. That being said, I feel a little odd saying "We really have been together since the beginning of our school days. Although I arrived in Grade 4 I felt that the group took me in and made me feel as if I was always one of them. The fact this school is the only one we needed to attend is part of the reason we have done so well." While I have been here for so long and have seen so much change, most of my graduating class hasn't. In addition, even though my graduating class is small, we are not all very close. I feel a little unnatural comparing them to family, so I feel as though that may need to be re-worded. Thank you so much for writing that draft. It is definitely a great start and is helping to get the train of thought going. How would you suggest changing the things that I mentioned? Thanks again!

In Reply

Apologies for the long delay, I can help at a few hours notice from now on.

You are quite right the part starting togetherness needs o be changed. If teamwork is appropriate then it could work. You could have - although most of us have not been here from the beginning we are a great team. I did not arrive here until grade 4 but I was taken in by the class who married feel a real part of the class. We may all be different and not even see each other outside of school but we function as a team at school. I have loved being part of this class.

Let me know if that works, if not I will make another draft today.

Apologies again for the delay.

High School Graduation Speech

by Talia Brown
(Ohio)

Hi,
I am a senior and we are auditioning in a few weeks to be the at large speaker at graduation. I want to talk about the past and how far we've come these past four years. I also want to make sure to thank parents and teachers. I'm trying to all this without making it boring or cliche, if you could give me a few ideas I'd really appreciate it.

In Reply

Thanks for contacting me. I am delighted to help.

Before getting on to some detail for your speech so that you can show a draft, you might like to decide on the general topic. The topic should simply reflect the educational journey and can be used to inspire the graduates to be excited about the future.

Generally speech topics are things like “lessons learned”, “the power of goal setting”, “keep on learning” and “facing up to challenges”, for example. However the person who makes the speech is you so getting one you feel you can speak about is best. Once you have the topic then you can pick out stories, experiences, your own thoughts and other material to support the topic. It should allow you to reflect on the past and be inspirational about the future.

Perhaps something slightly different might be “togetherness” if you have a class that have worked together and also a teaching team who have worked closely with you to help you succeed. The way forward on this might be to show how powerful the teamwork in the class, the support, times of working together and help from your class when times were tough. The class may have helped with understanding things at times, made sure anyone of ill they got the notes, and would all talk over homework and tests. The future can also have that great feeling of working together with your class at college, and the college staff.

Another speech topic could be built around the school’s codes of conducts if they are about working hard, enjoying the journey, being honest, helping others, and education is at the core of everything , for example.

Another speech topic might be to follow your passions in life. The past few years could have been about learning what you are good at and what interest you. Also they are about the hard work, dedication and also growing up that you have all done. The future is a lot better, and simpler, to imagine if you get up every day to follow your passions in life.

Perhaps you could let me know if one of these works or you want me to keep looking for a topic.

In the meantime if you are able to use comments and send in anything you can think of on:

Anything unique about the class
Challenges met
lessons learned
best field trip
best teacher
best fun
Any of the class who are real characters
Charity work
Specific achievements
Perhaps the local area has some stand out features
Does the class stick together and have good teamwork
Who has contributed the most to the others
Are you all going on to college
Do you have your own message, perhaps even how much you will miss the group.

High School Graduation Speech

by Waleed Titi
(Dubai - UAE)

I have been trying to come up with a certain idea, i want to thank everyone specially my classmates and show what they mean to me , but i dont want my speech to only focus on them, i also want to show what we (me and my classmates ) were like 6 years ago ( when i joined the school i am in now) but unfortunately i cant come up with any idea! like i need help mainly in the introduction to the speech then i can easily continue hopefully.

In Reply

I am very happy to help. I hope you can take something from these ideas.

Ideas

You could celebrate the growth and development of the class as a whole and how you stuck together.
Who you all were as people 6 years ago can be described and then build up what happened over the 6 years to bring you all to this point as graduates ready to move on to the next big step in life.

You might have been nervous, shy, scared and excited to be at this school. Probably concerned about fitting in, having friends, being able to cope with challenges and wondering how you would learn everything the school would throw at you.
As a Class you have stuck together giving support, giving friendship, displaying teamwork and forgiving any issues you may have had at times. A bond has developed between you all as you have faced challenges at school and outside it. This shared journey has taken you from childhood to the start of adulthood. Thank you all for the memories. I can never forget the fun we had, the special things people have done for me and the joy of being able to see each other every day. School has been very special for all of us.

Your Class may well have helped each other, laughed, worked hard, played, argued, debated what life is all about, helped charities, volunteered and competed.

Speech Example Theme Memories

So, for the speech (example), I hope this is part of a speech helps :

I congratulate my Class on their well deserved graduation.

Joseph B Wirthlin said “some memories are unforgettable, remaining ever vivid and heart warming.”

I think that is true of so much of our time together at our school. Remember what we were like 6 years ago. Those nervous young kids coming in to school, excited about playing together while nervous, shy and a little scared to be here. I know how concerned I was about fitting in here, being accepted and making friends.

From that point we have made so many amazing memories while achieving our goal of graduation.
We certainly have made life excellent by being a great Class together. Of course we have grown up in these years and life would never have been entirely simple. We have faced the educational challenges we had together, we have shared parts of our lives where we needed help, we have given each other true friendship and we have worked very, very hard together.

When I wrote done all the help I have had, the times I have been guided by the Class and the laughter, parties and those nights away on field trips, I realized that we have so many great characters among us. Memories from me are mixed between how much fun the good times have been and how impressive our handling of challenging times has been.

Each memory will, no doubt, come to mind at times as I go through life. Thank you for all you have given me

High school Graduation speech

by Amber Gonzalez
(Alvin, Texas, USA)

I need help writing a highschool graduation speech, that includes all of the students of 2017 not just athletes or specific clubs, but every student in our class.

In Reply

I am delighted to help. Do you have a theme in mind?

Meantime I will try and produce a draft speech that mentions all graduates in some way - below.

Congratulations to the Class of 2017.

If there is a word that describes our Class it is inclusive. When I started to write this speech my concern was to include everyone.

Inclusive is not just a single word. It covers a broad spectrum of meanings. All embracing, all encompassing, all together, extended family and unifying come within its meaning.

Immediately I love the comparison to our class. We really have Benn in it all together. I don't mean we see each other all the time or all do the same things. I just mean that in that focused, surviving school and graduating way we have been all together. Given the many hours of hard work and the trials and tribulations of meeting academic challenges we have not been alone. The Class are there for all of us. Certainly the challenges have unified us.

All encompassing is another great way of looking at us. We have all kinds of great people in our midst. Sports, chess, art, music, science and language to name a few. How amazing to get the respect of your peers no matter what the differences in your interests are.

All embracing is another great description. No matter when you joined the school, who you are friends are, what your background is, you are welcomed by this Class and given their loyalty.

Of course I must mention friends and family. Thanks to our parents and families for all their love and support. Thanks to our extended school family. I have loved my team here. Teachers are dedicated and really care about us, the rest of the school team feed us, keep us safe and make sure we have everything we need. This is a special place.

Expansive is a great description. Our lives are not confined to school or the grounds here. Luckily as a group we have been encouraged to look outside of this area. Expanding our horizons has given us a more expansive mind set, all ready to move on in the world.

Congratulations to everyone on Graduation Day.

Perhaps the biggest lesson is to always be inclusive. We will soon have a new college class, colleagues, teams and neighbours. Approach them all in an inclusive way, forge new teams, bring your neighbors and family together. Of course we will need to work very hard, dedicate ourselves to our tasks and meet all our challenges, but how much better to do all that with great people around us.

Good luck.

High School Valedictorian Speech About Time

by Hope
(Virginia)

Here is what I have so far. I am not really sure where to go from here. I definitely need to make it longer and probably change some things. I am open to any suggestions you have! Thanks!

A phrase that we have all heard countless numbers of times throughout our lives is “Life is short.” We’ve heard this cliche so many times that it has become meaningless like when you say a word over and over again until no longer sounds like English. This can also just be confusing. Isn’t life the longest thing we’ll ever do? As a kid I could barely even comprehend what life after school and living at home would be like and I still can’t really even now.

The way we perceive time is strange. It feels like yesterday that I was sitting in homeroom trying to decide whether it was better to be just as enthusiastic as our Tribe mentors were about Battle of the Freshest or to just act like I was too cool to care. On the other hand, homecoming feels like it was years ago. Five minutes can feel like 30 seconds when you are making the trek from the math hall to the English hall, but the five minutes before lunch feel like an eternity.

Something that we tend to make a bad habit of in school is wishing away time. We are constantly counting down the minutes till the bell will ring, or the hours till school ends, or the weeks till winter break. Honestly, this is often how I motivated myself to get through some of the most stressful times in high school whether it was exams, a big group project or a college application. I never really understood the possible consequences of this until I binge watched the first season of Stranger Things one weekend. During each episode, I was so anxious to make it to the next. Within two days I clicked all of the “Next Episode” buttons. When this option disappeared because I finished the show, I immediately regretted watching the show so fast.

How do you stay in the moment when we are constantly focused on the future? I used to take this literally and I would try to think about only the things I was doing at that exact time. “I’m brushing my teeth.” “Now I am eating.” This would get old very quickly. What I realise now that staying in the moment is more about engage and appreciating the other people around you.

So after all the counting down of months, weeks, and days, we finally made it. We are here surrounded by our friends, family, teachers, and staff who have all played such important roles in. Take this moment to embrace all the memories you’ve created the past four years and to be excited about where life will take you next. Take this moment to truly appreciate everything you have put into your education.

Many thanks for getting in touch. I will be very happy to help.

I like your ideas and you really have covered time in a few great ways. Even better the speech is in your own words an totally unique.

Just to give you something to think about I have some ideas below. Let me know if they work for you.

In covering the past you might wonder at graduation day where all the time went. Although there were times when time seemed to go very slowly when there was a longer more boring class, it still seems that the past few years have friends flown by.

Best times have been making friends, supporting each other, charity days and of course successfully graduating.

Time has been so well spent gaining vital skills for the future, gaining confidence, building for the future, finding out all about ourselves and knowing how to get through difficult moments.

Someone once said that time should not be measured by clocks but moments. We certainly have created many outstanding moments together.

Thanks are due to the time and effort put in by our teachers and parents. We could not have done it without you.

We are all very ready to step into the future. I hope we all use our time wisely and work hard. Kevin Ngo said If you don 't make the time to work on creating the life you want, you're eventually going to be forced to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don't want. You might be able to use this to urge everyone to use their time well and make the best life they can.

Let me know if any of this helps. I can also help arrange the final version if you want.

50 Reasons Why

by Jennifer Booth
(Strum, Wisconsin, USA)

Writing a graduation speech solely based on the future.
Three speeches are given at our ceremony including past, present, future, and I am giving the speech about future.
An interesting aspect of our class is there is exactly 50 kids, so we were thinking of incorporating the number "50" into our speeches. I am having trouble on where to start.

In Reply

I will get onto thinking about this one tonight. Can you confirm the grade of the graduate's.

I have a first draft below which just needs altered to be appropriate to the grade and perhaps some real detail on the graduates' futures. Let me know if this speech works or not.

There are 50 amazing graduates here to day looking forward to a bright future.

The number 50 can be used to predict the future you have in store.

The number 50 to some is the sign of joy and feast. This would point to a plentiful life full of happiness. Continuing to work hard will give you the rewards you deserve.

50 is also the number of change. Change is certainly going to be a big part of your lives. You are very well prepared to cope with change. That change will bring excitement, opportunity and give you a full and meaningful life.

50 is also the number of illumination. I think that predicts your brilliance will shine through. Take the opportunity to do well each time one is presented.

But life is not all about hard work. The number 50 is a favourable number which symbolises grace and kindness. Knowing you well I can confidently predict you will live your lives with a calm approach, well balanced and full of kindness.

50 really is a great number!

Good luck

UPDATE - first draft speech below, I hope it gives you a start.

Thanks for getting in touch. I would be delighted to help.

To get started do you have successes and challenges relating to the class, is the school unique in some way or does it have things like codes of conduct, do the class act as a team, is there a charity they support , are there real lessons learned for this group that will benefit the class in the future. What does the future hold for the class for example colleges, university of jobs.

I am hoping to see a topic that can pull the speech together from anything you give. Topics like using lessons learned, find your passion, power of perseverance or overcoming obstacles might work but you may well have a better idea.

Meantime I will start getting some ideas for you.

Draft Speech

Welcome to the parents and families of this wonderful group of graduates.

Being the class tutor I feel I know each of the class and I have come to love working with them. Seeing them every day, watching them develop and grow and helping them where I can is a real privilege. I would say this has been one of the best times of my professional life.

The class are hard working, intelligent and have a great deal of curiosity which is brilliant when it comes to learning. One great characteristic of the group is the strong, positive personalities they have with a huge sense of honour and fairness. They are truly a credit to themselves and their families.

Of course there have been challenges along the way. However the class soon learned to ask for help and also dig in and work through them. This approach will always be valuable, especially when the class go out to further education and careers.

Life is not just about hard work and exams. The class socialise very well and have some real characters. Again great skills to have when moving on in the world.

I can tell you without a doubt that your children are very well equipped to take the next steps in life. Their thirst for knowledge, desire to get ahead and the skills they already have will propel them forward no matter what they do. As parents you can be confident that your children will do well.

I hope you are very proud of your children.

On a personal note I will miss being with the best class I have had. You have been a great part of my life and I too am very proud of you.

Good luck class of 2017. There is a world full of opportunity just waiting for you to take on the challenge and succeed.

I hope you stay in touch.

Sabay-sabay na Hakbang Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan

by Jane

Principal Hughes, Honored guests, families and graduates.

Congratulations class of 2017.

You have been so fortunate to have grown up i this time. You have not just grown and developed in a step by step way through your early years but also gone through the steps of education in a structured and steady approach. This has led to huge success as you can see today.
Think of the great formula you started out in life with. You accomplished many truly amazing things at the time. Learning to walk you took baby steps, persevered, had a clear image of what you wanted to do, had excellent coaches and step by step you got there.

This step by step formula worked brilliantly for you as you learned to talk, play, letters, numbers, nature and all about the world around you. Even family life has a step by step approach as you take your place. Remember learning to ride your bike with an adult learning you and picking you up when you fell down.

O course you worked very hard with a clear end result.

Through high school you have used the step by step approach as the teachers steadily developed your duration to the required standard in each of your subjects. Steadily you have gone from things like the simplest counting to algebra, learning letters to writing essays and playing alone to developing adult social skills.

I salute the hard work and dedication of your teachers. They really are focussed on helping you do your best. I am sure many of you have been picked up by them when you felt you couldn't do something and given the confidence to go on.

Along the way life of course has a few challenges to throw at is all. I know you are a class who did not give up. We all have times when a part of all of a subject seems too difficult and we get discouraged. You are a class who do not give up.

Always remember this formula. Take life in a step by step way, seek help, work with great teachers, and work really hard. This way will bring you success. If not persevere. Of course sometimes no matter what we do things do not work out. That is the time to step back and check you are on the right path for you. Occasionally we need to slow down and take a moment to reflect on what is going on.

Today is about giving the recognition to your class. You are a wonderful group and I hope you always remember how proud you are today. You deserve your success.

In the future you are going on to many different things. Your paths will suit you as an individual. But if you use your step by step approach you will succeed. There is a wonderful world out there waiting for talented people like the Class of 2017 to take their place. I hope you find that continuing in education in some way gives you an exciting life.

Good luck

I have a draft speech for you - let me know what you think.

Principal Houghton, Honored guests, families and Class of 2017.

Congratulations to the Class of 2017.

I sat where you are quite a few years ago and felt very pleased with myself. My parents were very happy, my teacher very proud and my friends all excited about graduation. Looking back I know now that this was the moment that set me up for a great life both at work and at home. I did not just leave here with great memories, great friends and a simple but effective way of succeeding, but I also left with hope that I could do very well in the future.

The simple plan to succeed is one you already know. Work hard, listen to your teacher, work together as a team and just enjoy being at school. Using this plan i found a way to fulfil my lifelong dream of being a police officer. I love to help people, want to make our community safe, love living here and I love to learn. Working hard to achieve my goal of being in the police made me feel really good.

At Elementary school you really did step forward together as a team and learn amazing things. Together with your teachers and friends you have found out all about numbers, words, language, health, pets, nature, writing and sports. You just took steps each day to make progress. Over the year your ability has grown steadily and the teamwork has grown stronger. You too as individuals have grown strong bit by bit. There was no need to be concerned about being able to learn. Together you worked hard and with excellent teaching you have succeeded.

Of course it was not all hard work. Play is a good part of your time here, the photos on your board show how much fun it is to be here. Learning while you are having the best fun, being with your class and getting success is just the best.

I can say too that you have the best teachers. They teach you really well, help you with anything and are on your side at all times. This group of teachers made me what I am today.

Today is graduation day. This day is exciting for you and your whole family. I hope you enjoy all your celebrations. You really should feel very special today. This is not just a special day but the start of something big for you. You will remember it for a long time.

The next step for you all is the next grade at school. Simply by stepping forward together you will be able to do very well. Your new teachers have great lessons all ready for you. Again I can reassure you that if you just have faith in yourselves and work hard you will do very well all through school. Simply turn up each day and try your best. You next set of teachers are very enthusiastic, have fun, are fair and will teach you brilliantly.

Take my advice and just step forward together and embrace the future.

Good Luck

The importance of concerted endeavor and collaborative efforts of stakeholders and learners in achieving quality education - High School

by Jane

Below I have a draft High School Speech.

Principal Emerton, Honored Guests, Parents and Graduates.

Congratulations to the Class of 2017.

No one succeeds alone, you have been the beneficiaries of one of the most amazing education systems. You have of course played a massive part in your own success.
“Unity is strength - when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.”
By Mattie Stepanek
There is a huge collaborative effort behind everything to do with your education. Of course, collaboration, as we shall see, comes in many forms. Firstly let us step back and look through the amazing journey you have had in your education. People can tell you about what should happen and what the plan is, but it is your own experiences as a Class and individuals which really matter. You are very successful.

At the Government level there is a determined collaborative effort to bring a world class education to all of you. A team have given you a curriculum, funding, trained teachers, buildings, equipment and a real national emphasis on the importance of education. There is no doubt this group work consistently hard every day to help you succeed.

In collaboration with the Government, the school set about making it all happen. They deliver this amazing education system. The principal and teachers work very hard every day to prepare and deliver the best education. They are a dedicated group who understand the changing needs you have as you go along. They are able to adapt and change their approach to be sure you get exactly what you need.

Thanks also to the team who keep the school open, the lights on, everything working, help teachers do their jobs, and make sure you can attend each and every day. The support team are wonderful.

You may not have thought about it too much, however you have all taken part in a collaborative effort whilst working hard consistently to achieve your goals. Your consistent hard work has occurred through extra lessons, homework, projects, term papers, exams, testing, study and study groups. In collaboration with the rest of the class you have learned much more than you would have on your own.
I collaboration with your teachers you have work through misunderstandings, corrected areas where you were not thinking clearly, worked on feedback from tests and exams, created individual learning plans, sought advice on your best subjects, and had help with any other issue you wanted to raise. Your dedication to do well has brought the best out in you and your teachers.
The collaborative effort also included friends and parents. They will have altered plans to be sure you could complete school work, give money as you need it, helped you revise, encouraged you and been there for you at any time.

However school is not just about serious learning. That would not bring out the best in you. Life has to be balanced with fun and excitement. You have had fun, gone on field trips, grown up, found your best subjects, had opportunities, made friends, explored the opportunities you may have in the future, played sports and enjoyed life.

Today we are privileged to celebrate your graduation with you. I hope each of you can look back and lock away the great lessons on the past for future use and of course celebrate your big day with enthusiasm and no little effort. I hope you take a look around and see just how much you have needed the people around you. We all need to enjoy our successes before moving on to the next big thing.

The future will I think contain those magic ingredients of consistent hard work and collaboration. There is a great quote by Dwayne Johnson “Success isn't about hard work. It's about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
You just need to dig in and put that consistent in and you will succeed. You do need to remember that you cannot succeed alone. The college you attend will have collaboration, the family business runs that way, your employer has it and you will do so well if you collaborate with everyone too. Tap into that power of many great minds and rise above mediocre to greatness.

Good Luck

Graduation Theme 2017“Sabay-sabay na Hakbang Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan”

by Nellen Grace Ortiz Basillote
(Mati City, Davao Oriental, Philippines)

I am asking for your help with regards to the title above for I will be a guest speaker of my alma matter in elementary... thank you so much!!!

I have a starter speech at http://www.graduation-invitations-graduation-party.com/the-importance-of-concerted-endeavor-and-collaborative-efforts-of-stakeholders-and-learners-in-achieving-quality-education.html.

To make this more relevant to your graduates I can rearrange the content to include any details that would make it real for the children. Their achievements, their teachers dedication, the help by the parents, the work of the children - eg their best projects, and also what you might like to say. Although the speech topic is set you might want to inspire them further about the future.

I have a draft speech for you - let me know what you think.

Principal Horton, honoured guests, families and of course graduates.

Congratulations class of 2017.
Great to be back at junior high seeing a talented class gain recognition on their graduation day. I hope this journey you have been on with its many challenges has made you feel that bit more satisfied and proud today.
You are well on your way now to completing your school education. A graduation ceremony in junior high is not just a fitting tribute to your achievements so far but also a fitting point to stop off and reflect on the journey so far. What has been the story of your journey in education so far and what does the future hold? There are of course a lot of learning points which can help you finish your school education off in style by inevitably going on to become high school graduates.

I am sure you understand that you are learning machines. Right from the start you learned to walk, talk, run, play and make friends. Right from the start you worked together with parents and family. You fearlessly took steps towards learning anything you needed to. So, for example, with walking you knew what you wanted to achieve and happily followed your parents lead as they coached you. How many times had this approach worked for you?

Your method of getting to this high level seems simple but highly effective. Of course it is also a lot of very hard work but that is all part of being successful. Step forward together with your class and teachers and get on with creating your future. No one achieves anything by just dreaming, instead you took action. No one achieves anything by working alone. You work together with each other to help anyone in difficulty. You work together with your teachers to understand, try out new learning and achieve success.

Using this system you have taken different paths. Some of you are a bit more art, science or people oriented, for example. Your achievements are excellent. I hope all of you see the strength you have gained from it. You have come this far very successfully. I know there have been some trials and tribulations. Everyone had failures along the way. Bouncing back and using the learning points has been part of your success.

They say the strongest steel is forged in the hottest furnaces. I suppose for you that means that you will be amongst the mentally strongest graduates in the country. This class has some challenges in terms of completing your education. Some of you have to walk a good distance to get here. Some of you also work. So there is a real determination about you. You have gone through much more to get to graduation. I am sure at times it all seemed too much but you have come through it and succeeded. Perhaps that in itself will give you a steely determination to succeed in life.

All of this hard work, taking simple steps towards building your future and working together have made you all into graduates. I am so honored to be here at your graduation day. Congratulations!

I am a fully qualified teacher and given the long yourself study and sacrifice that took I can sympathise with you on one hand. However on the other hand I can promise you that the hard times spent in pursuit of a tremendous goal are worth every late night spent working hard. I have my dream job helping to forge the lives of our children. I aim to use education to bring the best lives they could imagine to them. I hope to show them they can reach their dreams by working with a dedicated teacher and working very hard.
You have come this far. There is just a short journey to the end of school now. Based on your success so far I hope you feel energised and ready to step into the final phase of your school education. Working together as a class you can help each other to succeed. I hope you swap lesson notes, help each other over tricky pieces of learning and keep each other motivated for the rest of the journey. Just by stepping forward and deciding to commit will bring out the best in you.

You all have a great future in front of you.

Good luck

I have a speech for you below. Let me know what you think.

Principal Ayew, Honoured Guests, Families and Graduates

I am especially delighted to be here at your graduation ceremony. Let me firstly extend my own congratulations to the class of 2017. You are an exceptional group of students who have shown what can be achieved by applying yourselves with determination to our education programme.

I was here in your place having my own Grade 6 graduation day not that many years ago. It really is a good time to have a think about how far you have come, enjoy your richly deserved recognition and look forward to the next stage in your education.

I think it is appropriate to take a moment to think back to who you were 6 short years ago. Those young children entering the school system already missing their parents and feeling a little apprehensive. By that stage you had already learned to walk, talk, run, play, eat and think for yourselves. These amazing feats had been achieved in a step by step way while being in a supportive environment. You worked together with your parents, grandparents and siblings. You would have had a determined approach with a clear goal in mind. You also took on new challenges by just simply taking steps towards learning something new. You trusted those around you to support you when you fell over!

Since that first day you have learned the most amazing amount of new things and achieved a very high standard. There has been no huge fuss or drama, just a simple step by step approach with excellent teachers to teach, mentor and support you.

This list of achievements is long. However to mention just a few subjects you have learned math, language, grammar, punctuation, computing, art, drama, friendship, about the world around you, our geography, helping others and communicating effectively. On your first day could you have imagined being able to do any of that. Indeed at the beginning of grade 6 could you have imagined being able to cope with the things you now know so well.

I have used this way all my life. Of course there have been a few challenges along the way, but I certainly believe I have succeeded by using a step by step approach, while working together with other people. I am very, very proud to tell everyone that I am a fully qualified teacher. Being a grade 6 graduate was the start for me on my journey to reaching my goal of being a teacher.

You can move forward so confidently if you trust our education system, work with your teachers, work very hard and take things on a bit at a time. The most successful people in the world take this approach and it will work so well for you in the future. Simply step forward and get started when you start anything new. Apply yourselves with dedication and you will be amazed at your success.

Congratulations

I think it is appropriate to take a moment to think back to who you were 6 short years ago. Those young children entering the school system already missing their parents and feeling a little apprehensive. By that stage you had already learned to walk, talk, run, play, eat and think for yourselves. These amazing feats had been achieved in a step by step way while being in a supportive environment.

I was in your place a few years ago. I went on to graduate from high school in 2005 and college in 2013. Being at school at your stage sparked a real interest in me in continuing in education and using it to give me the best possible life. I don’t claim to be a genius but I knew that if I worked hard I would succeed. Like you can, I simply worked very hard over the next few years. I found that as I worked hard success seemed to build up and I became more successful as I went along. So, have faith in the future there are many discoveries to make yet about your careers and perhaps college courses.

You can do as I did, just get into grade 7 with the intention of doing the best I could to succeed. Even since my day the resources available at schools at greatly improved which helps the teachers to teach and support you better. You have the best chance of any generation due to the investment and improvements in education.

So my advice to you is keep looking for that real passion, trust that life will unfold if you work hard and work together with teachers and your class.

Congratulations

Salamat

I have a speech below. Please let me know if it works for you. If you wish me to help customize it let me know.

Congratulations to the class of 2017.

I think you are all stars. You certainly have shone brightly at kindergarten.

You all seem to be able to learn anything - amazing.

Right from when you were born you have learned so well. Imagine how hard it was to learn to walk and talk but you just did it. You had your loving parents and grandparents to support you and let you try it all out.

Here at the best kindergarten you have learned letters, numbers, art, play, staying safe, washing hands, tying shoe laces and lots of other great things. You just did it by practicing lots of times. Well done to all of you.

I think one of the best things is your friends. Over the year I am sure you have met your best friends. Your teacher says you are really good at working together. I would think that is one of the best bits of kindergarten.

Your teachers have made this year great fun. I know they love being with you. They really do care about each of you just Ike you they work really hard. They are the best teachers aren't they? Thanks to them.

Let us also thank everyone who helped out at kindergarten. The parents have given time and raised money. Thanks also to the team who keep the kindergarten open, clean and safe.

Graduation day is your special day. It is a day you all deserve to have and I hope you enjoy it. Take a bow class of 2017.

I imagine you are all ready to get to grade school. You are certainly clever and hard working enough. Just work hard, listen to your teachers and work together as a class.

Good luck

Guest Speaker Speech for my Alma Mater with the theme " Sabay-sabay ma hakbang Tungo sa Kinabukasan"
by: Anonymous

I was also invited as a guest speaker of my alumni sharing inspirational talk about the said theme. Will you be able to help me constructing insights focusing mainly on the theme? I have some idea but I cannot plot it since this is my first time to have a talk and be back to my alma mater for the last 7 years.
The idea is to incorporate examples like when you are growing up you are help to walk, talk, write. and while you are on your journey growing up you'll face road blocks, sign boards that warms you to slow down something like that. Or maybe showcase what state and contribution of the millennials are in our society today, create highlights of to be topic of the talk.
I will be waiting for your response.
Thankyou and God day!

I was also invited as a guest speaker of my alma mater for a moving up ceremony of Grade 10 students.
Need help upon constructing speech. I want to focus mainly on the theme, maybe incorporate ideas about "hakbang". A stories or example on how we learn things like walking, able to read and study something like that which will inspire the graduating students. Or maybe highlight key points on the speech based on what state the millennials are now connecting to the theme.
I hope you'll be able to help me.
Thankyou and Good day.

Can I check you are looking for a simple saying like

"work hard every day" or "teamwork gets you to the top". If you could give me an idea about how the school gets the children to work hard and how they are taught then there will be a theme that the children can relate to. Meantime I will think through what may work in a Yearbook.

Guest Speaker Speech for my Alma Mater with the theme " Sabay-sabay ma hakbang Tungo sa Kinabukasan"
by: Anonymous

y Alma Mater envited me to make an inspirational speech of the struggle if my studies and how can i relate to the situation of the completers of grade 10 since I was also a prudoct of the school. It is a school for night high student. In the morning the students work and in the evening they will attend school because their parents cant send them to school due to poverty.

I want to add stories about how hard it is to be a working student and how hard it is to be a night high school student especially when their is blackout in school and when the rain pours hard in the evening , things like that.

This is my first time giving a speech since i graduated 10 years ago. I hope for your immediate response. Your help would be a great help. Thank you and God Bless!

Great detail and a great angle to work on.
I just need some time to think about this one. I will be back to you tomorrow. DONE!

Please have a look at this speech and let me know if this fits in with how you saw the messages you wanted to deliver.

Speech

Principal Hampton, Honored Guests, Parents.

Congratulations to the class of 2017.

The fact you graduated is quite astounding in one way given the huge extra effort you make one daily basis to attend school and do your studies. Another way to look at it is graduation is your rightful recognition for the ability you have and your enormous potential for the future.

I was in your exact place some years ago. I know only too well just how difficult your journey in education has been.

I know that you get up early, work hard all day and then after a short break come here at night to attend class. You get home late and have to complete school work, term papers and study for exams. You are a unique group, few people could cope with the work and school in the exceptional way you have.

You have worked consistently hard, made sacrifices and then worked extra hard at busy times. Although tough, what a wonderful way to develop lifelong habits of head work, perseverance and determination.

I know many of you work very well on a collaborative way. Hello g each other with understanding, checking work, tutoring, sharing ideas on social media and also reminding each other of work to be completed. This teamwork, shared burden and even just learning forgive and seek help is another hugely valuable skill.

They say the toughest steel is forged in the hottest fire. The class of 2017 have certainly had the toughest schooling, but you can real the biggest rewards from the strength this has given you.

Of course thanks are due to the teachers who are dedicated to giving you the best possible education. They work with you in a respectful but demanding way and it certainly has worked well!

Thanks also to everyone who runs the school, deals with blackouts and makes sure you are all safe.

I have been here, i graduated here and i lived the life just as you have. I would not change it for anything. I love the caring community we have. I love success against the odds and i love the people we all become because of it.

So, congratulations to you, the class of 2017. I hope your enjoy all your celebrations today.

The future is in your own hands to enough of an extent for you to get to it with a real sense of purpose and enthusiasm.

I know some of you will have felt that you couldn't wait for it to end as exams , school, study and your work room their toll. However you have proved beyond doubt that you can cope with much more than you ever thought. You have succeeded. You can go again and find the next big educational challenge. These days you can go online and simply enroll. I know it costs money so you should be doing something you are committed to. Some of you will go to college , you are more ready than you know.

In the future draw on your experiences, skills and strength. You know you can work hard consistently and that will fuel your success. You can work together and help each other succeed. I love this community and really hope to see each of you choose more education and drive your lives forward.

Good luck to each of you.

I have a draft speech below which needs the real details about the graduates' education, funny stories, achievements and teamwork.

Firstly this step by step approach works so well.

Congratulations

i have some ideas but i cannot organized my thought well. i would like to highlight the importance of education, how lucky every child who can go to school, i want also to include my recognition to the people behind my success. my favorite teachers. my parents, grandmothers and relatives. i want also to inspire them to study despite the hardships in life. that no matter what your status in life it is your choice to fulfill your dreams. something like that. thank you. and also i want to mention some people who really makes great impact in my journey. thanks in advance.

Can you have a look at this speech and let me know what you think.

Principal Nye, Honored Guests, Families and Graduates

Congratulations to the class of2017

I opened you are feeling really proud of yourself today and can feel just how far you have come as people and also in the educational standards you have achieved.

You are very fortunate in the education you have been given. The country, your local government and school have worked consistently hard for many years now to deliver a world class programme of education. I think you can every proud of the fact that you graduated with such high standards.

Of course no one said it would be easy. However you have perhaps used those magic ingredients that give success.
You simply trusted the system and followed what is an excellent curriculum. It is not always a good idea just to follow the lead but in this case it is the best thing to do.
You worked very hard. Applying yourselves with dedication will always pay off. Successful people all work very hard.
You had great teachers. You can trust them, talk to them and work with them to succeed, including when you have gone astray.
You had each other. No one succeeds alone. Working together makes you stronger. Shared lessons, help with understanding, keeping each other motivated and building life time friendships is a great way to live.

On graduation day it is great to admire your many achievements, praise you as successful people and take a moment to reflect on just how far you have come in the past few years. Enjoy this moment as there can be many more to come.

Your future is in your own hands. Each of you must have a path that you dedicated yourselves to. Find a great college or career with excellent training, find great teachers, work very hard and work together with your colleagues or fellow students. Of course before you do, find your dream future. Once you know your goal you can figure out a step by step approach to getting there. Then your magic formula will work in a powerful way for you.

I wish each of you all the best. You are our best prepared, strongest generation and I look forward to watching you progress.

Good luck

Junior High Sabay Sabay Hakbang Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan

by Jane

Principal Horton, honoured guests, families and of course graduates.

Congratulations class of 2017.

You are well on your way now to completing your school education. A graduation ceremony in junior high is not just a fitting tribute to your achievements so far but also a fitting point to stop of and reflect on the journey so far. What has been the story of your journey in education so far and what does the future hold? There are of course a lot of learning points which can help you finish your school education off in style by inevitably going on to become high school graduates. I am truly impressed by the maturity of your group and your willingness to step forward together and face the challenges to come. You undoubtedly have a steely determination to succeed. That in itself will drive you forward with purpose. By now you will all be well aware that life really does it follow a simple path free of challenges and pitfalls. But I think you will handle them when they arrive.

All of this hard work, taking simple steps towards building your future and working together have made you all into graduates. I am so honored to be here at your graduation day. Congratulations!

Good luck
